About the Charity We Support

Sometimes you get the privilege of working with a group of people who are really dedicated to their mission.
Winston is a school in northern San Diego County that specializes in educating students who might otherwise fall though the cracks. Bright students who may feel like a failure because they don't fit well in the traditional teaching model; kids with ADHD, dyslexia, high functioning autism or other learning difficulties including reading and math.

It's a school that's always living on the financial edge. They keep class sizes small, really small, at just 8 to 12 students per class. They accept both public and private students and offer scholarships to families in need. This school is a ray of hope for parents who are heartbroken to see how hard their child works, only to struggle again and again. Winston made it possible for my son to go to college and now I have committed to help them on an ongoing basis so that other families can have the same success. The fact that he's going to college is only part of the success factor. It's more that he now has the confidence to do so that is so amazing.

100% of the sales for many of our patterns will be donated to Winston. Our patterns are generally $4.50 but PayPal takes almost $.50 for fees. Knitting Nuances will cover the PayPal fees, so that the entire $4.50 goes straight to Winston.
