Support for Local Yarn Shops!

Local Yarn Shops have a lot to manage. It's difficult to balance project questions with the needs of new sales. That it takes time and effort to design new classes to bring in customers and that teaching a project class means your instructors need detailed information. That's why we've developed class plans and materials for you as part of our LYS support plan.

Detailed Patterns Reduce Number of Questions
We've put a lot of work into our patterns to make them easy to read and understand. They're full of links and tips that help the knitter be more self sufficient.
    • Quality materials: We print the patterns in color with a nice heavy paper and put them in a clear plastic sleeve to protect them.
    • Packages: Small purchase minimums mean you can try out a number of different patterns.

More information will be available when we launch. For now we will send you a free copy of our non-Garter Log Cabin blanket pattern when you sign up. It's a great example of how much thought we put into patterns.

Class Outlines & Announcements Make it Easy to Offer & Fill New Classes
When you buy our patterns for resale we provide more than just the pattern. We've developed class materials for some of our patterns that include:
    • Skill levels and targeted knitters
    • Class flyers
    • Class handouts, homework and yarn suggestions
    • Course outline with extra photos & support for the instructor

An example of our class materials is available under the LYS Class Materials tab above. We'll roll more out with our new announcements.
  • Sample Class Materials
We will offer a variety of free and fee patterns to draw customers into your shop. Many will include additional teacher notes, handouts and marketing materials. The detailed class materials are available only to Local Yarn Shops and are designed to go hand-in-hand with the pattern. Our Alliterations project plan is a great example, designed specifically to bring new knitters into your store.

Alliterations is a perfect next step project; just right for the new knitter looking to expand their skills while focusing on core mechanics. The project uses three variations of garter stitch with a twist. There's still no purling but by introducing slip stitches, k2tog and yarn overs the patterns are prettier than garter. The result is a project the new knitting will be proud of and prevent the boredom of endless garter stitch that results in UFOs.

Here's a sample customer flyer. We'll email you the entire class plan as an example when you register (that's how we can restrict it to only LYSs).
