Recommendations for Newer Knitters



Knitting Nuances is all about new skills. So what if you're a new knitter and not so sure about your skills? We recommend you start with one of these projects. Don't worry, we have lot's of help both in the pattern and on our blog. Each project page has a link to the the blog posts that are most applicable to that pattern. We recommend the two “Master the Showy Decrease” swatches for everyone. Link here.

Most of these patterns are free so there’s no risk is giving them a try. If you need some hands on help, we have class packages for your Local Yarn Shop too.

Parallelity Scarf

Why We Like it
Simple stitch pattern to follow. The bias shaping allow the Showy Decreases to travel up the entire scarf.

Manchester Scarf

Why We Like it
- Right and left leaning decreases are very popular in knitting.
- The pattern is a little harder than the Parallelity Scarf because you’ll need to track the decreases as they move into a point.
- Knitting non-rolling edges is an issue with stockinette based patterns. The Hatch Edge is a nice alternative to know.
